Cthulhu Fhtagn Final

Blender 2.74. 784 Total AA samples = 20.5 hours of rendering on my Acer Aspire i5 2.6GHz, 8GB RAM, Cycles, CPU. Approx. 1.9M polygons. And yes, before someone makes a snide remark, I do know how to make normal maps: did it, too, for those fancy plants. But at the end of the day, I only had 3 weeks of leave and retopo-ing and unwrapping everything would eat up all of it and then some, and I'd come back to work more exhausted than I was when I left. :-) Also features the most sophisticated piece of sculpting I've ever done to date: that green Cthulhu figure. I could not replicate the statue by Corinne Crowe pictured in the book, The New Annotated H. P. Lovecraft: I'm no sculptor and will never be. Oh, and I used the pictures of the real frescoes of Gobekli Tepe for bump/displacement maps: I hope 11,000 years is enough for any copyright to expire... although one can outdo Lovecraft imagining the ways the copy-wronged souls of the authors might take to express their outrage. :-)
