Contest - Mother Nature Final

When I thought about what an embodiment of Mother Nature would be, I thought she would have so much more to do with life and death rather than plants and animals specifically. She's harsh and pure. Life flourishing in the place of death. I designed my interpretation to be a combination of opposites. Life and death. Light and darkness. Physical and spiritual. Plant life and animal life. She seems serene and emotionless, but the constant sorrows of death have stained her cheeks and there is ferocity and passion in her dark eyes and red lips. There are references to life, death, and their cyclical nature all throughout her design. In particular in her arms and hands. She can give the gift of death with a gentle caress of the black back of her hand, or smack it away with a sharp back handed swipe. With her white hands, fingers, and palms she works the wonders of life. She can be whatever scale the task she engages herself in requires. She also has an ethereal nature to her, so there are no bounds she cannot penetrate.
