This is a render of a concept car I worked on for fun. I wanted a clean set of renders of the car in "showroom" condition, and one that had been raced. The image above is the "raced" version, sitting quietly in the paddock. As I was texturing this model, I had a breakthrough when I stumbled across descriptions of how the model makers for the original Star Wars movies texture painted their practical ships (beat up x-wing fighters and what not.) I mimicked their physical process digitally. Everything was done in Blender -- as I recall, the render was produced with the Octane plugin.
