After 5 years of using Adobe software I bought Coreldraw X7 about a month ago to leave behind creative cloud nonsense. So this has been as much an exercise in learning how to use Corel as it's been about the contest. I also started this a week ago. I didn't expect to get any submission done in time. I have been impressed with Corel - the clock hands were easy to line up in Corel. In Adobe I have no clue how to do that.
The submission is medium quality [ about 65% from memory] to reduce the file size. But to be honest I don't notice a huge difference between that and about 90%. It was A4 so that's why the size is large. Next time in these contests I will start off with a smaller custom page.
This is my first CGCookie contest entry. It's just a funny take on "cookie time". The cookie logo peeps out of the clock. Is he hiding? Or maybe he's thinking of coming out to eat some cookies! I could have made some improvements - drop shadows, removing the tiny gap between the main clock and the bottom Roman time point. But I have to submit it at some point. I have a clock on my wall that is just like this. So I based the clock on that!
I'm happy with it as a time-crushed effort. I'll use more time next time!
