This stream is part of week 2 in the August 2019 Class: "Get Started Building Stuff with Blender 2.8"
Plain gray models can be boring. So we paint them with colors! This is where "textures" work their magic. But before we can paint on our 3D models, we have to layout UVs. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, don't worry. After you watch the texturing chapter and the live event for this week, you'll know exactly what I'm talking about.
Class Live Stream Schedule: RSVP to get notified when we go live.
- Week 01 - 3D Modeling with Blender 2.8
- Week 02 - UVs and Texture Painting
- Week 03 - Shading and Lighting with Eevee
- Week 04 - Class Wrap
I love luminous mode
crap my battery died. I missed that last part
would it be better to bevel edges of the handle before painting them or are you going to bevel them once you move to vertex paint?
llionturtle ... depends on the model ... if you can only see one side at a time symmetry will save you some time ... you can go back and add asymetrical details on a per side basis if you want ... it's pretty much your preference

Jake that's awesome news. I'll keep an eye on your polybook
tobles - my replacement tablet will arrive this week! And then I will continue with him. But work for this class will be the priority of course.
[Q] How dangerous is it for my grade if I put a huge focus on the blade only for texturing?
[Q] when you added paint to the blade, it was symmetrical from one side to the other. would it be better to avoid symmetry?
ungh! hahaha
