This stream is part of week 2 in the August 2019 Class: "Get Started Building Stuff with Blender 2.8"
Plain gray models can be boring. So we paint them with colors! This is where "textures" work their magic. But before we can paint on our 3D models, we have to layout UVs. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, don't worry. After you watch the texturing chapter and the live event for this week, you'll know exactly what I'm talking about.
Class Live Stream Schedule: RSVP to get notified when we go live.
- Week 01 - 3D Modeling with Blender 2.8
- Week 02 - UVs and Texture Painting
- Week 03 - Shading and Lighting with Eevee
- Week 04 - Class Wrap
{question}Couldn't I just Smart UV Project if I was going to use substance painter. The overall goal is to model for unity assets.
I'm jk I think its best to learn math slowly and in the order it was presented in history like in context and with images too
{question} so it's not poorly unwrapped to use smart project just not efficient.
Thank you
dostovel, I couldn't do it without the support of the community

Smurrrrt UV Project
Smart UV Project more like DUMB UV Project, ha! I'm very smart.
I teach math and I think of this in the same way that I describe to students how to find the surface area of shapes (especially cylinders), because "unfolding them" makes more sense to students
