Every season the Blender Market has a sale, and one of my favorite projects to work on is creating the advertising graphic! During the stream, I'll build one out for the summer sale and will talk about how to manage scenes with large numbers of assets, using existing assets to tell an interesting story, and how to go from zero to final render as quickly as possible.

Turn on proportional editing:
Select the top layer of vertices using box select:
Scale ( S ) along the Z axis ( z ) then press 0 to scale it it flat. Scroll your mouse wheel to adjust how much of the mesh it affects:
