This event is part of the October 2018 Class, "Shading & Lighting with Blender"
Architectural Visualization (Arch Viz) rendering is often a coveted skillset among lighting enthusiasts. This week we're looking at lighting for realism, featuring natural outdoor light from windows and artificial light from light fixtures. We'll also explore the necessary materials for our interior.
The floor lighting mess is pain
Question how do you make the render portion smaller ?
I'm having same issues with Scott
I wonder if I can just turn off those reflections.
I think the scene makes the difference, the one I was trying to lit had a small window on the front and it's a big living room

When I light an object, the lights are hard to control on the floor. They show up everywhere, seem hard to control.
A situation like this - where selection becomes complicated - is one of the great things about the 2.8 collection system
Yes, I'm here
Question: Could that Light Path Node help reduce floor light messes when trying to light objects?
QUSTION: if there is time over after the arch viz could you show someting again ?
the week when we had to shade and light the car you added a texture (noise i tought it was) and depending on the object size it was having a diffrent effect. how did you changed that for all at the same time ? that moment i had to select each object and do that for all of them . While in the video somehow for you it happend with all of them (it was the texture space option )
