Karen, I haven't done any modelling of digger or backhoe or fork, whatever guys call them. I just didn't have time and I am in self-isolation, my PC in another location.

  • Shawn Blanch(blanchsb)

Karen, I think the important thing here is that you are participating.
This course will push you to learn in different ways. I am not that good either. Took me a couple weeks to do the loader arms haha. Many many hours......on the blockout. I chose it because despite the parts. It was easier geometry haha

  • Karen Trevino(ketre)

I'll look at it thanks guys

  • Thibaut Bourbon(tbrbn)

ketre don't feel silly :) follow at your own pace and maybe try some parts only instead (for example)

  • Jake Korosi(jakeblended)

It did not look bad at all, Karen :)

  • Karen Trevino(ketre)

my cab looked awful in comparison, sorry guys

  • Omar Domenech(dostovel)

You should try it non the less Karen

  • Karen Trevino(ketre)

[Q] This is a little too advanced for me. Can I opt out? I feel silly

  • Omar Domenech(dostovel)

    That's how we learn Jake

Buckle up for a LONG project.

Thanks to my kids I've become quite fond of "diggers" over the past couple years. All the complex shapes, hard edges, bolts, hydraulics, tire treads, etc. It's a modelers playground and labyrinth rolled into one.

I'm going to start building a digger - a Caterpillar 434E specifically - as accurately and detailed as I can. The name of the game here is organization, perseverance, and efficiency because most of the shapes are not difficult to build. There's just. so. many. of. them. Which gave me an idea...

Stop! Collaborate and Listen

Why don't we build this thing together? For those interested in following the project, I'm hoping at least a few will participate by modeling certain pieces of the backhoe themselves to be submitted to me for review and incorporation into the final model.
