In honor of the spookiest month, each week in October I'm going to be hopping on a stream to sculpt a goblin character with Blender. The little guy was designed by our very own Mr. Tim Von Rueden!
At this point, I anticipate making a sprint toward home plate! I plan to finish detail sculpting and calling this guy 100% sculpted.
Come hang out. Learn some character modeling tricks-o-the-trade. Bring your questions about Blender, modeling, sculpting, CGC, art, movies, music - whatever - and let's have some Halloween-themed fun.

Hello!
But compare it to modo's or maya's sculpting tools - those two have a lot of catching up till they match Blender
That's why it's perfect for so many. I heard it arguably has the best dynamic topology too.
If Blender's goal was to be purely a sculpting package, then yes there's certainly room for improvement. But as a jack of all trades, it's got a very legitimate sculpting toolset
Interesting to hear. I guess Blender has a lot of catching up to do.
It's got a pretty legit auto-retopology tool. That's really the only thing I've used it for
vvaculik I might give 3D coat a tie with mudbox. 3D coat is a silent killer. I haven't seen many pros use it but the few times I have, I find it does a *lot*
Ok, just set the stream to live for the pre-10 minute jamz. Reload if you're already here!
Does that mean 3DCoat wins the bronze medal?
vvaculik Yes, I used Mudbox at my first studio gig. It was good. Nothing particularly special about it as I recall...but that was over 6 years ago. I would have called it a respectable 2nd place to zbrush
