    Good idea!

GPU is mostly for rendering with Cycles... CPU and RAM will give you the best bang for your buck as far as sculpting performance is concerned.

  • Scott McClellan(pffsfs)

But don't you retopologize to get around the triangle vs. quads?

  • Omar Domenech(dostovel)

Lets just update the whole computer

  • Omar Domenech(dostovel)

    😐 Which one is it

    smurfmier1985

    I think also RAM

  • Daniel Breitschaft(badjackdaniels)

The new Nvidia QUADRO is suficient...

  • m
    Tim Elliott(metaversedeveloper)

    GPU

  • Ken Claassen(cptken)

It's both, GPU is really fast at rendering polygons, but CPU is required to modify the vertices in the vertex buffer.

but thats an extra step scott :P

This event is part of the August 2018 Class, "Getting Started with 3D Modeling & Blender"

Digital sculpting is the more artistically intuitive method of 3D modeling. If pushing and pulling verts felt like the hard way of doing things, sculpting will be a welcomed alternative!

This stream collaborates with the Fundamentals of Digital Sculpting course. We’ll be discussing/demonstrating the pros and cons of digital sculpting as well as how it compares to mesh modeling. Again, practice makes perfect with any craft, so we will practice sculpting as well. Bring your questions and be sure to have your pen and tablet ready to practice with me!
