With our previous house I did about 75% of all the work. We're currently renovating a bathroom at our new house and I'm only doing about 30%. Not the kind of time / energy I had before kids ha

It's easier to make a guitar in 3D than for real, at least for me...

  • Kent Trammell(theluthier)

I don't do any plumbing (aside from replacing a toilet) and barely any electrical. But all the wood working, drywall, trim I like to do myself.

  • Omar Domenech(dostovel)

Kent I do have a question for you... Do you use people to do the hand work of wood around the house or do you do it yourself?

  • Kent Trammell(theluthier)

Yes I've been playing for about 15 years. About the same amount of time I've been doing 3D. Better at 3D though 😊

  • Omar Domenech(dostovel)

    You an Axian bro?

  • Omar Domenech(dostovel)

Volumetric Rendering *today*, Junior

If you're like me, a few years ago you tried volumetric rendering with Cycles. And after waiting 30 seconds for your computer to calculate 1/100 samples, you cancelled the render and never tried it again.  The fact is volumetrics are extremely complex to calculate and sloooooow to render.

Until Eevee! Volumetrics in Eevee shocked me the moment I heard it was a feature and I have to say they're quite competent. Finally we can edit volumetrics quickly. Sure you lose some authenticity but it's well worth adding this tool to your Blender utility belt.
