• Cookie Dough(cgcdough)

That's interesting. Which one do you like doing more?

  • Jonathan Gonzalez(jgonzalez)

I guess that depends on what you're modeling and what you plan on animating. I wouldn't say one is easier than the other, just different workflows.

  • Cookie Dough(cgcdough)

Huh. Is it easier to model the character or animate it?

  • Jonathan Gonzalez(jgonzalez)

Well both. Rigged characters have a lot more bones, specific constraints and trying to make it look natural means going back and forth a lot to tweak the timing and movements.

  • Cookie Dough(cgcdough)

Is it just hard to make it look natural, or are there just a TON of things you are animating?

  • Jonathan Gonzalez(jgonzalez)

especially when you want it to coincide with an animated prop like a weapon.

  • Jonathan Gonzalez(jgonzalez)

Any rigged characters can be challenging. I haven't done it in a while though.

  • Cookie Dough(cgcdough)

What's the hardest thing you tried to animate so far?

  • Jonathan Gonzalez(jgonzalez)

    Yeah that sounds great

  • Cookie Dough(cgcdough)

jgonzalez I should animate my banner after this stream. I have several cookies on it.

In this community challenge we'll take a look at animating a simple CG Cookie logo. This logo is rigged and ready to be used in Blender 2.8. If you're brand new to animation in Blender, then this challenge will be just what you need to get started. In this live stream I'll explain the challenge requirements along with a simple example of using the same rig to create an animation sequence.
