    you'd need to be able to compile down to a texture atlas. I believe using less textures causes less draw calls, so it probably won't affect a cycles render all that much, but would affect eevee realtime performance.

    [Q] 1.2 GB is how much drive space you have used 12GB is the total in the Spice folder. Mine shows 127.3 MB

    Also its easier to scale a texture down vs UP so its better to start high and lower it if needs be.

    [Q] maybe an important observation...the amount of textures is more important than the size of the textures!
    So, one 2K image is better than four 1K images, although they can have the same information
