I only saw the modeling part so far. Haven't yet watched the rest :O

    Modelers beware

  • Jonathan Lampel(jlampel)

phoenix4690 It totally depends, since it's such a weird in-between. I've seen both but I think more often than not it's the modelers since it involves both the high and low poly.

  • Omar Domenech(dostovel)

While I was watching all that trouble shooting I thought "man, after all of that, if the director wants a change in the model, do you have to do that all over again? the tedious UV unwrap with all the tiny pieces? the baking, the cage, the grouping?"

We're excited to try a new genre of Blender Live Event: The film review! At this point in time, there's a lot of short films that have been made and are being made with Blender. The CGC crew loves keeping an eye out for such films, as we assume you do as well.

Our goal with these "reviews" is to delve into each film for an hour, considering things like narrative, artistry, and technical execution. This week we're looking at Blender Animation Studio's latest short, "The Daily Dweebs". Watch it below and join Jonathan Lampel and I for the discussion!
