This event is part of the March 2018 Class, "Creating Stylized Characters with Blender".
Like Dorothy, our characters have so far lived in a black and white world. This week we’re leaving Kansas and adding color. There’s many methods for creating our character texture(s) including hand-painting, baking maps that accent the painting process (great for the less painterly character artists), as well as photo-sourcing. There's also a couple different formats: Vertex Colors and UV/Textures. All things we will be discussing!

Have you ever been in a situation where something is hard for you to decipher because you just see a color smooch?
And it's not like I see in black and white. Just certain colors look the same.
*pokes malhomsi* still awake?
Color perception can be slightly different based only on monitor settings. I'm a little surprised there isn't some kind of voluntary standard calibration for artists or designers to use.
If only we could go to that planet in the movie Interstellar, where 7 years was an hour
excellent here!
How's everybody today?
Good point valandrath. If we got enough commitments from students, perhaps we could group based on timezone. Then again, in 2018 working internationally via internet is very common. Could be a good exercise for everyone
