It should be a great stream, you're good at hosting and preparing the presentations

  • Kent Trammell(theluthier)

Heh Jonathan Williamson hates the term "industry" as well

  • Kent Trammell(theluthier)

We try to do free streams occasionally. Figured this was a good one as I kickoff the "artist study" genre

  • Omar Domenech(dostovel)

I don't know about you but I hate the term "The Industry" as if it's a valhalla of sorts that when you reach it you've been enlighten

  • Kent Trammell(theluthier)

This is a free stream, meaning it doesn't require a Citizen membership where anyone can watch on youtube (though the only chat is here)

    Zach Zellman(zachzellman)

I would definitely be up for that! I just need to get way better first!

  • Omar Domenech(dostovel)

You grow a lot, and you also get frustrated and tense and nervous, but nature has done so that it is the only way we grow

  • Omar Domenech(dostovel)

You should say yes to a freelance job when you feel ready, Zach

  • Omar Domenech(dostovel)

Or do you have to be logged in with an account? even if it's a free one

  • Omar Domenech(dostovel)

Can people without a CG Cookie account see this dream and see the chat?

One of the best ways to learn, improve, and challenge ourselves creatively is to study great artists. Remember Picasso famously said, "Good artists copy. Great artists steal."

Ok, obviously literal stealing is not Picasso's point. Instead the insight of his quote is to get in the habit of admiring and analyzing esteemed artists. In this stream we're doing exactly that; focusing on one of my favorite 3D artists: beeple. We'll look at his background, sift through his body of work, and discuss his artistry/technique.

Beeple is famous for creating an image (usually 3D and always incredible) from start to finish every day for 10 years - and he's still going by the way. Read that sentence again. Besides his absurd ability to create quickly, he's above all a gifted artist. His #everydays work is a deep well of abstract visuals, realism, voice, composition, emotion, etc. Trust me: There is much to learn from studying beeple.
