Oh the weather outside is frightful... 🔥
It's December and cold in the US. Perfect weather for a warm fire! And thanks to a recent(ish) tweet, I've been inspired to create procedural fire:
No particles or smoke simulation - only about 2 dozen shader nodes. In this stream we will recreate the material from scratch and tweak it to look like a candle flame and a raging fire.
I'm not joking
very funny tobles
I wish there was a different kind of copyright, things would be different
I have no idea what cgi costs but is a 10k dollars a lot for a pile of dog sh*the?
On the bright side, CGI skills are extremely flexible and in-demand outside of "the industry". Freelance work is plentiful
True Kent
CGI is undervalued by the audience probably, yes. Most for sure don't understand the complexity.
But what's worse is film studios themselves don't value CGI *financially*. Far too often AAA vfx work is a bidding war to the bottom and studios end up closing as a result
Ah good one Tobles
Because of the titanic reference of yours.
