Have you been interested in sculpting?

This is a full series of seven tutorials in which you will be guided through the process of creating a full-body chimera sculpture from start to finish. You will learn how to build a detachable wire armature, how to use reference material to lay down basic muscle anatomy, and how to sculpt the creature's details such as fur, scales, talons and feathers. Course Curriculum
  • 1. Chapter 1 - Wire Armature

It's crucial that your sculpture is structurally strong so that it supports itself while you sculpt as well as when it's finished. A wire armature acts like a skeletal system for your sculpture.

  • 2. Chapter 2 - Anatomy

Even though the Chimera is a mythical beast, its anatomy is anchored by actual animals. Let's start our sculpture by getting the basic anatomy correct.

  • 3. Chapter 3 - Details

Here's where we can add all the fun little details to polish off our sculpture.

  • 4. Chapter 4 - Molding

Molding is a valuable skill to have because it allows us to reproduce duplicates of a sculpture, whether it's to simply to replicate the original in a more durable material or intentioned for sale!
