Our third stop in this Blender 2.8 series on creating weapons for a first person shooter is rigging. For most guns it’s fairly simple, and in fact I was going to combine it with first person animation, but I want to take it a step farther than usual and show you how to rig up a complex weapon that actually transforms when you switch modes from a rifle to a sniper.
What’s even cooler is that the whole effect is completely controlled by one bone! It’ll be super easy to animate. If you can rig this guy, you can rig just about any weapon you can think of. So come learn more about armatures, rotation axes, bone constraints, actions, and more!
