Help understand Fresnel setup in Blender 2.8x

Hey guys and girls,


I am really confused with Fresnel setup and there are so many versions online that I do not understand which one should I use and which one is applicable to which situation.


A: I have seen users use actual Fresnel node as factor and mixing two shaders glossy and diffuse and then use IOR index. something like this

B: I also seen some use a Layer weight in combination with curves 

C: Some use fresnel with Layer Weight


I am really confused on what is the right way and why you should use one or another? CAn somebody explain me what to do?
