BC1-1808 Homework, Pavel Mazanik

Collaborations

My homework thread for the  August 2018 Class

So here we are.

For "Model with primitives" I have two submissions. First is the one I made while watching "Blender Mesh Modeling Bootcamp" in 2.79. Here it is

And the second one I made in attempt to get in touch with 2.8. You know this phun about how ships in bottles are made? Parts and glue are thrown into and bottle and shaken. Sometimes result is trash, sometimes a ship. I hope this one is closer to ship :D

Week 1

Nice!  I like it! Something to think about: the ropes get a bit lost because they're so close in value to the background.  So either the background or ropes should be changed to a different color to help see the details better.  Just something to think about in the future.

  • Pavel Mazanik(nekronavt) replied

silentheart00 I absolutely agree. I think this color fits it better. (replaced pic in head)

So let it be my Week #1 Homework Submission

  • silentheart00 replied

nekronavt Yes, much better!  Good job!

  • Aaron Rudderham(thecabbagedetective) replied

nekronavt  Dayum that is beautiful, very well done indeed!

  • smurfmier1985 replied

Thank you all folks, I'm really glad you like it :)

  • Scott McClellan(pffsfs) replied

but... but... where's the bottle?? lol. Just kidding. This is awesome. The painstaking detail - uggggh (need to change snowman scene). I made this comment on a couple others I believe - this is an inspiration. It makes the imagination fly as to what can be done here. sheesh... starting to sound like Kent. lol

  • galledark (galledark) replied

Woah ! Nice ship, it looks definitly good :)

  • yukino hatake(yukinoh1989) replied

This is really amazing :o wonder how many objects you have to build it xD
Great job i also like the colors

  • Pavel Mazanik(nekronavt) replied

pffsfs thanks :D I wanted to make a bottle, but all it's doing is distracting from ship itself :)

    galledark thank you :)

yyukinoh1989 thanks :) It's about 350 primitives + near half of them are mirrored.

  • Kaj Suominen(louhikarme) replied

Looking excellent :) good job :)

  • Wilco Wilbrink(carrotnl) replied

nekronavt VERY nice model! Is it a pirate ship? Black flag and all.

  • Pavel Mazanik(nekronavt) replied

    louhikarme thanks :)

ccarrotnl let it be pirate :) Though in reality pirates almost didn't walk with galleons.

  • Katerina Novakova(shiennar) replied

This is amazing, I half expect Lego characters to jump out of it. :-) Very nicely done - especially the sails must have been difficult to place so neatly.

  • Pavel Mazanik(nekronavt) replied

shiennar thanks. Actually the most difficult part was hull bottom. Sails are pretty easy and, to be honest, not very neat xD

  • Pavel Mazanik(nekronavt) replied

Sorry for posting after deadline, but I'm suddenly realized, that this ship lacks of one little detail :D

  • smurfmier1985 replied

nekronavt Yes! That's the cherry on top, pirate Suzanne love it!

  • Michallis Pashidis(michallis) replied

    nekronavt Sail away! Nice :-)

  • silentheart00 replied

nekronavt Now you're thinking with Suzanne!

  • Kent Trammell replied

nekronavt Wonderful work! Wow. Like a lego galleon - love it. Splendid detail. It's one of those that are hard to believe they're just primitives. A+ work, Pavel! 👏

PS: I love the Suzanne easter eggs popping up in several submissions. I feel like this class could run away with such a theme 😎
