So I've been planning a local, private server, render farm, for a while now. Multiple systems with many cores. And I've been looking for some software to function as the brain of the farm. A software with Tile Rendering at that is a requirement, given planned scaling across multiple machines in the future.
However, come Blender 2.79 RC2, and everything has broken.
Blender's Netrender outputs nothing. Even though it spends time rendering.
Bitwrk by Jonas Eschenburg fails to start, but I'm told by them that they have an update planned for 2.79 in the future.
And Loki Render fails to recognize compositor settings correctly and breaks the output.
While Bitwrk sounds like what I want, presuming the Release Candidate bugs settle, I don't want to settle on hoping something comes of something that, well may not. You never know if the plugin will get to that maturity.
So... what is a tile-render supported, relatively easy to setup, use, and scale, piece of render software for Blender that works, today?
