Hi Chris. This has been a fantastic course once I got past the intimidation factor :-) I watched it once right through, and walked away terrified; watched it again very closely, with the light starting to dawn faintly and far-off; did a little "just for fun" animation using Baker, to get my enthusiasm going; then rolled up my sleeves and went through all of your tutorial one careful step at a time, trying to replicate everything you did. The third time through, it all started to make sense! One question I came away with was whether curves in the graph editor can be copied and pasted to other objects -- say I have Object C, and I would like to make it move just like Object A at one time in the animation, and just like Object B at another time -- could I somehow (here a miracle occurs) just cut and paste a bit of Object A's animation into it at time T1, and a bit of Object B's at time T2? Second question is about the actual cube objects being animated. I found that the "real" cube is somewhere off in space above the apparent (animated) cube. I could (and did) edit its Material, for grins. I noticed also there was a SS modifier on it. Yet my cube (as rendered) had very sharp edges. Is there some reason why I could not see smooth edges like the nice soft marshmallow-looking cubes in your sample video clips? I did my own "acrobatic cube" short, based on the instructions but not copying them to the letter. I wish it could be submitted as a final exam/project; I would like to see other people's (not just stills) also.
