Except making cartoon for decades, Blender has never been officially used to create any realistic human. Maybe the Blender Foundation is recently inspired by the course Human by @theluthier , or maybe Blender wants to be a new industrial standard, or whatever reason, realistic human research and tutorial by Blender Studio are finally coming soon:

Among this update, I especially look for the new Dyntopo, which is said to be much faster and able to preserve UV island boundaries....
