Here's my primitive exercise.
I made 2 simple examples. The first is a Pyramid Cottage consisting of a cube and cone. The second is a dome structure consisting of a single isosphere. I got the most out of building the dome structure. It was not until viewing this lesson that I realize that a uv-sphere is a quad and a isosphere is a trik. I’ve been trying to figure out for years how to build a dome structure. Only to realize, all I needed was an isosphere.
I’ve been away from Blender for 4 years focusing my attention on building the spherical (360x180) panoramas used as backgrounds and HDR photography. 4 years ago I got myself to the intermediate level. Now that I’m back, I find myself not only getting reacquainted with blender but learning a new interface. Not realizing there was a 2.8 track, I’ve been working in the 2.7 tracks and converting 2.7 to 2.9. Even to the point of doing the tire and rim project in 2.7. I’m finding it a lot easier to start from the beginning in this track and work my way up.
