My homework thread for Oct Class Shading & Lightning.
mmahir07 Looking sexy! The tire rubber is looking strange to me, though. Maybe it's just me. Good job adding the small scratches and details.
silentheart00 Should I add some more glossiness or what I am not really sure.
mmahir07 those imperfections look really nice, gives the bike something extra. Nice work!
mmahir07 Wow, that looks really nice! How did you manage to add that imperfections, scratches and fingerprints? :o Good job so far!
mmahir07 That is seeeEEEeeexy! Absolutely lovely touches with the imperfections, though I could argue that the smudges on the main body are a bit overbearing, but that could be entirely intentional so by all means go for it if that's what you're aiming for!
silentheart00 I am not using fresnel, actually I don't understand what does it do. I have to try it and see what does it actually do
thecabbagedetective I was thinking the same. But let's see what can I do.
bbsdwerbeagentur I never knew it would look so good. I just added them and then I was surprised. :D
mmahir07 So you just used textures/ maps for it? Or did you create the smudges and scratches procedurally? :)
bbsdwerbeagentur Yeah I used a texture map I found that on google.
I am now trying to make it like it's been raining and the bike and street are wet.
Btw here are nodes of the street. I am uploading here if it helps anyone that'd be awesome.
mmahir07 Fresnel is the phenomena where reflections on surfaces facing the camera get duller and as the surface turns away from the camera the reflections get sharper. It's an incredibly subtle effect but it is absolutely required for realistic shading. Kent talks about this a lot in his shader courses, so maybe a look into his car paint tutorial in the Shaderforge series would help.

I tried my best but still I am not happy with the result maybe I am doing something wrong.
The used model is from sketchfab : https://sketchfab.com/models/a2e12dc0f0e642809d189becdc991396
mmahir07 The wear and tear on the tires is very impressive. It look so real! I love the little paint chipping on the fender.
My only critique would be that the texturing is uniform across the tire. I would think it would be a little shiny on the sides of the rubber tire between the rim and the part that touches the road.
