ccarrotnl You can't tell that you used those, looks like an actual scarf. Thanks for sharing 😊

  • Zsolt Cseh(csehz) replied

Week 1 - Homework Submission - Modeling with Primitives (2)

In this submission I used no modifiers. It was completely done in 2.8, and in Eevee. I tried to keep everything organised in collections, though I might have lost track a little bit in the end, but I'm not sure.

Some where talking about making your image story driven. I liked that, and wanted to try that too:

    Ready! Finally.

I'm all sweaty, but when they come home, they'll really appreciate it. Now they can enter their warm and cozy home. And I'll stand watch out here. It wouldn't surprise me if there's gonna fall some more snow tonight. Who knows, maybe they'll make me a nice friend. Being out here, alone, is NOT cool.

    - story written by Petra Wilbrink (my wife; I'm not such a good writer) and translated by me -

Here's a link to the blendfile.

-edit - After silentheart00 mentioned putting some clouds in (a few post further), I decided to do so. At first I thought it would be to much. I wanned to keep it a bit clean, but he was right. So here's the second render with clouds:

ccarrotnl Beautiful! I like that you we're inspired by a story, and I think it's pretty cool your wife wrote this. Family effort 😊 I like this one even better than the birdhouse. Great composition, great atmosphere, good color choices and lots of nice things to look at. Love it ❤

  • Wilco Wilbrink(carrotnl) replied

ssmurfmier1985 Thank you very much! 😊

  • Scott McClellan(pffsfs) replied

Oh my.... What a lovely scene, truly. Love the log cabin. You even left a few spots of snow for him to clean up - nice touch. This is just wonderful all around

  • smurfmier1985 replied

ccarrotnl I do wonder, did you choose orange for the scarf for a particul reason? cg cookie color, dutch color, or just because it looks bright and colorful? 😉

  • Wilco Wilbrink(carrotnl) replied

ssmurfmier1985 You got me. It's the CGCookie color.😃

  • smurfmier1985 replied

    ccarrotnl Nice touch 😁

  • silentheart00 replied

Very cute.  I like it overall.  Maybe something in the sky, though?  It looks rather plain compared to everything else.

  • Wilco Wilbrink(carrotnl) replied

silentheart00 Good Idea. I updated my homework submission above. Have a look 😊

  • smurfmier1985 replied

ccarrotnl Oh yes, even better looking!!

  • smurfmier1985 replied

Oh that's brilliant to have an overview at the top! Much easier to find it back. I'm going to loan that idea 😉

  • Wilco Wilbrink(carrotnl) replied

ssmurfmier1985 Yeah, it's much easier that way. If you wanna know how to make a link to a specific post, just let me know.😃

  • smurfmier1985 replied

ccarrotnl Already did that, lol 😛

  • silentheart00 replied

ccarrotnl Yeah!  Feels less... unpolished in the sky now.  The level of detail everywhere feels consistent now.

  • Wilco Wilbrink(carrotnl) replied

I changed the ending of the story a bit. I think it's cooler now. 😉
