Simple particle systems aren't being included in render layers

So I've rendered out my layers and passes and the hair system on my model is being rendered but my simple particle systems aren't from either my volume, main or everything layers.. Any idea what I've missed here? I have checked that the particle systems are set to be rendered.  It was rendering perfectly before separating layers and passes

    Hi Sam,

We need more info here. Some screenshots as well.

The only thing I can think of so far, is that you have set the Particles to be Rendered as Halo. Then they show up in the Viewport Render, but not in the actual Render.

It's coming through in viewport but not in render. No simple particles from any layer are rendered which confuses me. They're rendered as objects and in the one shown the emitter is the torso which is showing and set to render. lmk if theres any more data you need

    HI Sam,

Yes, in this case the file would be nice...can't think of anything from the screenshots.

Wow that bee turned out quite awesome. I bet it'll get staff picked. Only thing left is to give it a name. Hence forth she shall be known as Chile.

Here's the file. It seems to be specific to cycles and in this file tried it in another and it worked fine there and then in eevee in this file and it worked fine. Very confusing.. here's a wetransfer idk how to upload it here https://we.tl/t-UCn6iOZ2AZ

    Solution

got it! it's something to do with having the vector pass on. I have it on to apply motion blur in compositing later is there something else in the particles I need to turn on so that the vector layer doesn't cause problems?

Found that the Vector Pass was causing it, not sure what to change to be able to still use it...maybe a separate Particles Render without the Vector Pass?

might be easier to just find another way of doing motion blur or not do it at all tbf

    Hey Sam,

Try this: Render Frame 2. (Seemed to work, don't have to change anything else)

The Vector Pass uses Vector information from the Frame before and the Frame after. Frame 0 doesn't have any Particles.

...or set the Start and End Frames of your Particle Systems to 0.
