Working on a spooky building. Lots of fiddly details.
The lower right levels need to be wider. The windows are too close together.
Technically, so should the tower. . . or maybe the columns are too wide, but I have a way around that.
The arrays for the roof tiles have not yet been applied.
So many details, you worked hard.
Ugh, gotta bake textures yet.
Topmost image is a bit more subtle.
A bit here, a bit there. I still need to cut holes for windows in a lot of the siding.
Front stairs are done.
Still working on the first floor walls, though that shouldn't take too long.
2nd story railing needs to follow the profile of the bay windows. That'll take a bit longer.
I'm finally done cutting roof tiles.
Little devil on my shoulder: "But what about the tiles that are occluding the dormer windows?" <- I'm ignoring those for the moment.
I still need to finish the two walls not in this render, get the wrap around porch done, the front porch stairs. . . . if it's going to be a contest piece then I need to get around to baking my materials.
I've been playing around with different visualizations instead of finishing up these tiles.
Despite the number of objects, they're almost all instanced. Only the highlighted tiles are unique. A few on the back, and a few along the edges of the structure where they needed to be cut to follow the edges of the roof.
"Blueprint mode" is much easier to interpret with flat tiles like I have on the tower. The regular roof tiles with the displacement look a bit too busy. I'd almost want a flat version of those for blueprint mode. (Just the viewport line view.)
I want to call the colorful wireframes Trippy Tuesdays. . . but it's Friday.
Fantastic Fridays? Fabulous Friday?
Edit: God, it's Saturday.
Sick Saturdays? Slick Saturdays? Styling Saturdays. . .
So many tiles. . . Doing the curved tower bits.
Cutting Roof Tiles now. I had a critical accident where I cut one of the 6 unique tiles at an angle for the roof that wasn't supposed to be cut, propagating that throughout 1/6th of the non-corner tiles.
I mostly repaired it, and had a serendipitous accident where I got a slightly different color for the roof tile, which I'm liking. I broke up the obvious color patterns on one roofline, but still have to tweak the Eastern roofline so it's not so pattern based with the new color.
A detail here, a detail there. . . Some trim and 3 or so railings done.
