This is a work in progress of a temple project.
This Temple is mostly inspired from japanese Shinto sanctuaries (I really like that sort of architecture).
Because it's based on "Shintoism sanctuaries" I did some researches in order to find a proper name :
I learned that sanctuary names in japan have one of the 3 following endings : jinja, jingu or taisha.
As for the begining of the name, I delved a bit in the Shintoism spirits that they worship and chose "Uzume" (short for "Ame-no-Uzume-no-mikoto") who is the goddess of dawn, mirth and revelry. :)
The modeling stage is not finished yet but I felt like sharing my work at this stage. I'm happy of it so far please tell me what you think of it ;) (should I keep the gutter ?).
maheration thx a lot! :)
You will, no doubt. ;)
WOW I wish that some day I reach to your level. Very inspirational :)
bbanshax Thx,
Actually, with the "boxy" bottom shape, the detail will be in the textures and since there might be some hanging things, it will also enrich the piece. ;)
Thx for the critique.
Love the multitude of curves on the roof, feels larger than life in a good way.
I`m intruiged by the difference in detail, its kind of cool. The straights and boxy shapes on the bottom all the way to the many details on the top. Nice gradient. :-)
Thx sstephanbored :)
This project has been paused for some time now. I don't know when I'll come back to it but I still havn't decided to abandon it. I will definatly post the end result here.
Solid looking model so far shinsaku. Good work.
Haha agreed. :)
What is it the say about great minds thinking alike! Too much fun. ;)
Wooow are you reading my mind ? XD I was thinking of hanging some. :)
I also think that I'm going to keep the gutter, I'm getting use to it. ^^
This is one great design. I think i would keep the gutter. If it isn't too much a departure from the tradition I can see some brightly colored paper lanterns hanging. This is excellence. ;)
