This was a painting for world rhino day, usually i draw adult rhinos and they are so big that i think they are all too often seen as powerful with the ability to defend themselves. So i wanted to show them in a different light.
It was also for me to play with wrinkles and light and shadow.
I like the rendering style of this piece. Not overdetailed, kind of sketchy and minimal but describes well the forms. And the subject, just adorable.
