Temple of Jupiter at Pompeii with Vesuvius Final

I made this image for a state Latin Convention contest a couple years ago, in the miscellaneous art category, and wouldn't you know it won first place! It's supposed to depict the temple area (which is a real place at Pompeii) just before the catastrophe. I based the Temple on both pictures of the actual ruins and on drawings portraying what it probably would have looked like before it was destroyed. I also used actual photos as a reference for Vesuvius, which you can see in the background. I got to play around a lot with materials (I know the brick texture doesn't quite line up) and compositing with this one.
