I really enjoyed making the robotic insects in CGC's Bug Bots course and decided to make my one entirely on my own using the methods they teach. I was conflicted between a fluffy bumblebee or a mantis and decided to go with the mantis for their more unique appearance. Finding places to stick the robotic parts was tricky - there really isn't much space inside a mantis, unsurprisingly, but it was still a lot of fun.
Oh my stars...another stunning bug bot! You've developed into a powerhouse 3D artist πͺ
Thank you! I only wish I was able to get projects done faster but I suppose every artist feels that way once and awhile π
Impeccable job yet again. Such amazing work in all areas on this project. The lighting and materials top the beautiful modeling design choices. Way to go for the staff pick trophy!
Thank you!!
Oh my god that looks so good. Lovely composition, shades, colors, surface imperfections, details, depth of field, it's got it all. Amazing job π€
Thank you! It was originally just a flat green but I thought that was too boring π
This is such a beauty!
Love all the internal mechanical parts under the translucent shell. Super cool!
Thank you so much :D
Does the female still eat the male after mating, or does she just recycle him for spare parts? Lol
Seriously, this looks so frikkinβ RAD! Looking forward to taking that course :))
Thank you!
Maybe they steal parts from each other π
