Outwitters Tribute: Feedback - Runner 3D Print Final

3 loves
Another Tribute Character from the Game Outwitters on the Feedback Team. This unit is their Runner. Capable of moving 5 spaces and attacking for 1 damage. Only 1 health makes them easy to kill though.

This particular tribute was a fairly easy model to make but much harder to print due to smaller shapes, thinner pieces, and hard surface edges.

The eyes failed twice due to being very small half spheres. I thought they would adhere to the print bed, but their initial layers were plucked when the smaller swirls of the head went around in circles. I fixed this by placing them on a "bed" sheet of filament. A small gap between the two let me put support between them.

The helmet and legs had 3 failures. They would tip over from side loading forces as the print head would brush left and right adding new filament on the higher layers. I ended up making a similar bed for them and added small cylinders for temporary support. They were cut away and sanded smooth after printing.

Due to such small pieces. I used a "helping hands" soldering station to hold parts and borrowed my daughters "bedazzling" kit for grabbing smaller pieces and placing them on glued surfaces for those parts held in place by the grabbers.

Placing the legs on the hexagon tile was done one leg at a time.

The final piece looks great, and I made sure to include another PLA GLOW filament for the eyes and hexagon tile "floor". I show off some of the glowing features at the end.

There will be 6 total characters for this team, so be on the lookout for more to come.

Thanks Bennie. These characters are a fun challenge. All 2D and single reference but shapes are not terribly complex so it’s helping me visualize concept in 3D simple shapes.

The printing is still a struggle even after all the characters and new lessons are being learned in addition to old lessons being relearned 🤣.
