Hello, im happy to show you all my new character Callie. It took me on and off around 1.5 mounths to complete and Im felling fairly happy with it.

I sculpted and polypainted in zbrush and photoshop and did everything else in Blender.

She is fully rigged, groomed with the new curve system and then i transformed it back to the old system. Rendered in Cycles

Blender 3.3.1

  • Damn, that looks really good, I'm jealous! I like how you even went through the trouble of adding some subtle peach fuzz on her face. Keep it up!

Dude! It looks epic. Oh my god thanks for validating the feedback and updating her. Looks fantastic. Awesome job Johan.

  • Look great. In this one the only thing that I would change a bit is the lighting. She is very lit up, light is blasting directly at her head on, there's no room for a nice shadow gradient, and shadows are your friend. Either way, excellent job.

Hey Omar, I agree, changed the lighting on the big pic aswell .. cheers :)

  • I actually look forward to the time when creating photorealistic characters will become routine—although, being my age, I’m not likely to see it. Think about it: you just write a description of your character; a piece of software processes your description and offers you several versions to choose from, with the ability to further adjust and modify the one you chose, and when that’s finished, you add your character’s voice, synthesised after a similar fashion, and use a wide mocap database to bring it to life. Done! Your movie is on the way to production and everything depends on you: no need for Hollywood’s funding, sets, locations, and what not. Most of the software components are already there—although they could use a lot of improvements. And the actors: just as we are now horrified at the plight of the Roman gladiators, I believe our descendants are going to feel the same way about them. Imagine: they have to work with their emotions and feelings, just as the rest of us work with their hands (and/or brains); that means, sacrificing one’s dignity. Would you do that? I wouldn’t, not even for a movie star’s pay check. And then, on top of that, paparazzis are watching them in the toilet and the social media rats relentlessly destroy any protective facade they try to present and expose the ugliest, dirtiest, and the most private details of their past and present to the ruthless from jealousy public…
No. Let it end. And this work, and other like it, bring this closer (finally getting to the point of this rant: whew!😮‍💨🤣)
