1st Anime Figurine Final

6 loves

--UPDATE 05.2023--
This project is officially done. I am so proud of how this turned out. Im a big fan of anime figures and hope one day I can be a professional at making/designing them. For the first project attempt, I'm very satisfied. Also, I found out the character's name (Momoko Koizumi) and contacted the original artist (instagram: @juanmao1997) to see how they feel about it and if they want the final figure. (also to see if they are cool with me posting this to more public places online.) Till then, hope you all enjoy and feel free to ask questions.

--ORIGINAL POST--
It's been a while since I've posted anything I've been working on, which is life I guess, lol. But this is something I'm rather proud of. I found this cute character design while on Pinterest and have always wanted to make an anime figurine. I got into 3d printing a while back, and decided this should be my first anime sculpt/print. I've labeled the post as WIP because I want to show it off as I print/paint the figure as well. My hope is that, once done, I can present it to the original artist as a gift. Please let me know what you think.

If you'd like to see the turn table I made for her you can in the link below, the site doesnt support reels yet.

  • Looks great, looking forward to seeing the actual print! Probably a stupid question, but what's the reason you divided the model up into all those pieces? Does it mean the actual figure will have articulation, or is it just easier to paint it that way?

Thanks! The cuts and keys are indeed to make the painting easier for me and to better fit the model on my tiny printer. These particular keys are just for connection and not articulation.

That is such an awesome model. Props to the concept artist as well. I hope the print comes out as smooth and great as the model. Can't wait to see how it turns out, painted and all. 👍🏼
