can we bake a 4k disp map instead?

my blender keeps crashing when I bake the 8k disp map. I think my laptop is not capable to bake it because it's too heavy. is there any other way we can bake? or maybe there's a service like render farm that can help and bake it for us?

Sure you can go with a 4K map instead. A lower resolution displacement texture just means your displaced geometry will lose detail up close. But that doesn't really matter if you're further away.

maybe there's a service like render farm that can help and bake it for us?

I'm not sure render farms support distributed map baking..honestly baking shouldn't take that long to generate (assuming one's PC has the needed resources). Out of curiosity - what's your computer's specs?

Thanks for the specs. Sounds like your machine is between "minimum" and "recommended" specs for Blender: https://www.blender.org/download/requirements/
