Ready for the next round of the awesome Backhoe project.

YESSSS! Ok so I've created a file for you in the WIP folder: DOG-434E_model/MASTER_parts/WIP/ADRIAN2301_dog-434e_interior_media-console_01.blend

It has the basic blockout version in the proper location along with the linked reference of my cab frame. Once more people volunteer for a part and I get them setup the same way, you can start linking in their parts if you need. But really my frame is the only part that directly touches yours.

You don't have to use my base if you don't want. I know you've already started modeling. Just align yours with the basemesh and you'll be on your way!

After each modeling session, simply save your file as a mastered version to the MASTER_parts folder replacing the wip number with the word MASTER: ADRIAN2301_dog-434e_interior_media-console_MASTER.blend

  • Shawn Blanch(blanchsb) replied

Wow this explanation somehow clicked for me how you are adding these. Thanks!

  • adrian replied

@theluthier I can't see the file ADRIAN2301_dog-434e_interior_media-console_01.blend in the WIP folder.

  • adrian replied

OK I found the Media Console file in the master parts folder and saved as a wip in the WIP folder.

  • Kent Trammell replied

Hmmm that's strange..I'll keep an eye out for sync inconsistencies like this 🤔

    Don't fail us google drive!

  • Shawn Blanch(blanchsb) replied

If I am reading this correctly I think Adrian meant that he was looking for it in the WIP folder like you told him but it was in the Master Parts folder. Hopefully I am understanding that correct.

If that is the case it is not a syncing issue, it was just a typo on which folder it was placed in.

  • Kent Trammell replied

I saved 2 versions before telling Adrian: The master file and the _01.blend wip version in the WIP folder. So it sounds like the latter didn't sync...But I've been known to make mistakes too 😅

  • Shawn Blanch(blanchsb) replied

Ooooohhhhhhhh. Well then yeah I don't think I understood it incorrectly then. Let's blame it on me lol. I'm a good blame catcher.

It's a good idea to keep an eye on issues like this in the future though I agree

  • adrian replied

Yeah there was a version in the master with my name on it, but not in the wip.

  • adrian replied

Had a free day today so got to work on the media console.

    That's not my render!!

Of the two reference images one was JVC and the other a SONY, I have gone with the SONY.

  • Kent Trammell replied

You're off to a great start @adrian2301. Surprise surprise. And I affirm the SONY choice 👌

  • Shawn Blanch(blanchsb) replied

    Yup. Go Sony.

  • Shawn Blanch(blanchsb) replied

I'm thinking there is some prime real estate for one of these bad boys (or more) to get some custom Mods.

  • Shawn Blanch(blanchsb) replied

We should make the radio turn on during the demo reel and play one of Kent's great songs.

I’m working on logo designs, you just gave me another idea 💡

I’ll see if I can work on it tomorrow.

    Watch this space.

  • adrian replied

Updated the media console with the suggested details.

Upward curve of the cd tray..

Bevel alteration of the screen (sharper at the end and smoother across the rest)..

    And of course the logo..

Not sure if this is the best placement for the logo, it's a bit small.

    Maybe this....

  • Kent Trammell replied

Much respect to you for updated the subtle - yet complex - shapes in the media console 🤝

I love the logo being there! I think I prefer the second option but would recommend shrinking the bell down by 30% and leaving the text as is.

  • Shawn Blanch(blanchsb) replied

Yeah second option for the media console. But definitely if you have-a-moe then make sure to get a nice set of bells on the speakers. After-all they are going to be pumping in the sweet chimes for our Pound Master when he drives this DOG down Victory Road!
