So I need to render out specific parts of a scene for various animations and I made a new view layer .
I then turned off any collections that I did not need in the render and then selected "render single layer"
I assumed this would render out everything in my active view layer that I had just created but it keeps rendering out the entire scene....
Am I doing this all wrong?
Hi Matthew, what I do in such cases is to un-check the checkbox left of the Collections to 'Exclude from View Layer'. Using the Camera Icon to turn of the Collection doesn't seem to do the trick, because that acts on all view Layers, not only on the active one.
frikkr Matthew try to right click on the collections you do not want to render and right click on it. Then go to view layer and select either Holdout or Indirect only depending on what you want to achieve.
