    It is not adding a vertex why is that?

    It is not adding a vertex why is that? I am using 2.8 . I used control + left click but it is not adding a single vertex.

      Seems to work for me with control + right click.

      CTRL+LMB is when you use Right-Click-Select.

      If you are using (the default) Left-Click-Select, it is CTRL+RMB, so like Phil said!
