Training Videos - Default Quality/Resolution

Collaborations

Team,

Is there a way to set the default quality (i.e. resolution) for videos? They keep defaulting to the lowest resolution for me despite running full screen on a 1920x1200 monitor with decent bandwidth and low latency. Issue due to using using Firefox? Just an annoyance to have to keep setting the quality on each video - every 5 minutes or so.

Thanks!

I don't believe it's a browser issue. The videos are hosted on Wistia which automatically detects the ideal video resolutions based off the speed of the internet from the member. We don't really have any control over that. You will notice that if you play the videos in their default size on the site they will be set to 540p, even on my connection speed which is more than capable of running HD. If you click on the icon at the top right of a video (looks like a laptop) it'll go into a theater mode which bumps up the resolution to 720, and finally if you go full screen it'll default to 1080p.

Here is a quote from Wistia on the subject:

When your excited viewer presses play on your video inline (usually 640px - 960px wide), it is a waste of bandwidth to show them the HD file. At that size, the difference in picture is nearly imperceptible. HD files are also much much larger, which means the viewer can also have that stuttering playback experience. Major bummer!
