Blender courses related query

Hello guys, I am considering getting CGCookie membership, I am looking forward to be able to create stylized characters with Blender, now my question is, will I be able to create decent characters by following Blenders courses here at CGCookie or do I have to get deep into studying  anatomy and figure drawing stuff? I m willing to study those things in detail but at slower pace, So can I just get into Blender and get creating good characters by following courses from here? Of course I do understand that I will need to practice and commit myself to learning Blender and it takes time. I hope you get what I m trying to ask here, and thanks if you took time to read this and for any answers you may provide. Have a good day! :)

Hi, there are 3 courses here that cover character creation: Modeling Realistic Characters with Blender, Introduction to Character Modeling  and Sculpting the Wrangler Game Character. While those courses are great (haven't touched the Wrangler Course to be honest), they are more for intermediate or advanced users so I would definetly recommend to practice a lot of sculpting or take the Fundamentals of Digital Sculpting Course if you're completely new to that topic. There also was a Creating Stylized Characters Class back in March 2018 which you can find on YouTube that gives you an introduction to creating stylized characters. But I have to say that I don't think they're enough to understand the human proportions and its anatomy right away. If you take your time following the courses you'll probably have a good looking result but when it comes to sculpting believable looking characters on your own I think it's essential to also learn anatomy from somewhere else. Don't get me wrong, I still think those courses here are amazing and you'll definetly learn a lot but if you're completely new to Blender, sculpting and anatomy I think it's going to take some time to master it, at least that's my assessment. :)

I agree with bbsdwerbeagentur, whilst you'll learn quite a bit from the courses on this site an understanding of anatomy is vital, even for stylized characters. Fortunately CG Cookie does (or did) have an anatomy course! It's a little old but the knowledge is still very useful, which you can check out here.

That being said, creating characters is a fairly advanced topic. I'm not sure what your understanding of Blender and 3D in general is but I'd personally definitely start with more basic things, along with following the digital sculpting course Julian linked. However if you do have at least a basic understanding of Blender then yeah, jump straight into the digital sculpting course and go from there.
