I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem.
I am using a Mac computer and almost always use Environment Lighting with HDRI images for the background lighting - these are mapped using a Texture Coordinate node and a Mapping node so that I can rotate the environment to change the lighting/mood of the final rendered image.
I have found that in trying to use Eevee I can no longer use Environment Lighting with HDRI images with the mapping feature.
When the environment image is used as-is without a mapping node, then it works fine, but once the Texture Coordinates node and Mapping Node are used, the whole scene goes pink. I cannot figure out why, as the image worked just before making that change, and the path to the image file is a real valid path.
Does anyone know of a fix or a workaround? Thank you -
silentheart00 -Thank you for your message - do you think there is someone in particular who I should address this question to? I feel like I am the only one experiencing it and each time I download a new build I am hoping it will be resolved, but it's still there :)
mmatthew1917 Well, I'd probably at least let the developers know and talk with them about what you're trying to do, since it is still in development and experimental.
Possibly Kent Tremmell (a teacher here, @theluthier ) since I know he has a Mac and could possibly recreate it in that environment, but a class just started, so he'll be busy with that. Not saying he won't take a look, but the class will take a good chunk of his time. If you're not able to get an answer by next week's class, maybe you should stop by the class stream if you're able to and ask during the stream. We will be focusing on Eevee next week and I'm sure HDRIs will be part of that week's workflow. Plus, there will be more interaction in the chat from members.
silentheart00 Thanks, my friend - I'm actually in his class, so I can ask him - I remember him saying he was on a Mac. I will have to check the video of the class because he had put in his email address but I never wrote it down. Thanks again for your help!
mmatthew1917 Ah, okay. There's a few new faces in this class so I haven't learned the new people yet. Hopefully the video will be up soon.
