    HOMEWORK WEEK 3.

    Melvin submision link:https://www.cgcookie.com/exercise/sculpting-melvin/exercise_submissions/16103

My Melvin sculpt, rendered with eevee.  Could have improved much but i am running out of time. And yes i know, the left arm is longer than the right.

I didnt realise we were to sculpt primitves until last night, so this is done with haste.

Everything should be done correctly now.

aarev It looks nice! Good work

    mmahir07 Thank you so much:)

aarev Good work.  Horns could be more tapered, the arms look a little flat; could be rounder.  Maybe a little bumpy here and there, but overall good work.

aarev Lookin good! Melvin's pose is a little flat in 3d, kinda like he splatted into a window, frozen in that pose. One of the more difficult parts of working from a single image reference / art work is interpreting the shapes into 3D. It's easy to flatten the sculpt out to match the art in favor of making the most sense in 3D.

Still that's a minor note. Nice job this week, Arev! It's an A in my book.

No week 4 submision from me. I have been close to burnout lately and have therefore decided to take a few days break. I will probably finish the model i was going to model at some point.

aarev No worries man, I understand where you're coming from. Whilst there's technically a deadline for this class if you need to take a break it's for the best. At least the next class isn't until October so you got plenty of time to rest.

aarev I hope you come back refreshed after resting those eyes and brain cells. I often switch to non digital things when I reach this point like drawing in my sketch book or making a cheesecake.... you know, the usual things. ;-)

aarev I think it's a smart choice Arev, you're health is most important so take all the rest you need, take care 👍🏻👍🏻

  • Morten Fjellheim(arev) replied

Thank you for the support, you guys are awesome:)

aarev No worries Blender is hard, all of us know.

The most important is to enjoy it, sometimes you will feel the opposite side when suddenly being inspirated again with the power you gained here

  • Kent Trammell replied

aarev No worries! I too think it's wiser to mind burnout and not do too much work. There will always be more projects to tackle after a rest.
