Bleed issues when texture painting

On my model , I have the bleed set to 10px , and every object I texture paint is fine , except for the key , which as you can see from the image below , only bleeds past the uv island on certain edges... I have tried changing the bleed value, but it still only effects the edges that have bled and the others stay right on the edge of the UV.

I have also checked the usual issues : Scale is applied , normals are correct , seams are ok , there doesn't seem to be any duplicated geometry and the UV's are unwrapped fine. I am out of ideas and would apprecite any help on this

almost looks like the bleed is disregarding a couple of seams there?

be interested to find out what it was if anyone else hits this.

Yeah it's a strange one , never come across an issue like this before.

Incidentally , this is the only part of the model with a subD mod on it, but neither applying the mod , or deleting it help.

Hmm I wonder what's going on here. frikkr could you post a download link to your .blend file so I can take a look? (via dropbox or equivalent file hosting service).

Secondarily I just want to look at your model because it's looking gooood 🤩

Haha thanks @theluthier , I will see If I can get it uploaded to my dropbox then. You will have to excuse some of the messy modelling and cut corners , I have been very pushed for time since my twin girls were born so I have admittedly had to rush through your course to get a result.

A couple of thoughts: do you have duplicate vertices mixed in there somewhere or did you use a mirror modifier without clipping?

  • Matthew Fricker(frikkr) replied

Nope , neither I am afraid. It definitely looks like it could be either of those issues but I have checked both. Thanks though :)
