Around 3.30 you use the scrape brush. By locking the area plane option you create a perfectly flat surface. I am using 2.8 and it doesnt appear like you can lock the plane option. Do you know about a diferent option to do this?
Like most things in 2.8, the function is still there but moved and labeled differently lol. Now it's a checkbox under "sculpt plane" called Original Normal. When checked it serves as the lock function.
