how to reduce the noise?

Hi, I having a noise problem. I followed the video but got a lot more noise than the downloaded version.

the image below is the CGCookie version

this image is my version

and this version have Is Camera Ray enabled, if I use the other option it gets even worse.

how can I have a better result? (I use 500 samples)

Hmm I wonder what's causing this...Would you mind sharing your file with me so I can take a closer look? Just upload your .blend file to dropbox or google drive, get the sharable link and paste it here for me to download.
