I expected a better Lesson from cgcookie. Something's wrong. After finally figuring out how to upload the primitive model (poor integration with SketchFab) and no instructions btw.
cgcookie submit button gives no indication the model was uploaded - explains the identical models on Sketchfab as one keeps trying. Gave up, uploaded eventually with the Sketchfab add-on in Blender.
Sketchfab is another story - the model looks fine in Blender but is invisible in Sketchfab. Faintly visible in wireframe mode but the other modes are transparent. Using an iMac with Safari to view.
So the question is what gives?
Hey Awa, looks like this is a question for the Model with Primatives exercise instead. We've had Sketchfab exercises in previous courses in the learning flow, so I assumed it would be familiar for most users. We're working on a better upload system, but for now you'll need to upload to Sketchfab directly.

I'm really not sure how you could get a link from Sketchfab to put into the exercise without uploading it first. Were you getting an error from our site?

If it's invisible, then it must have to do with transparency. Try turning off the Opacity option in the Sketchfab material settings.
Good morning, thanks for your reponse. I think part of this is me being a klutz w SketchFab, but I'll try to answer best I can.

As far as I knew I was in cgcookie while taking the Model w Primitives exercise. It said submit your exercise. I tried and the alert box kept asking for a SketchFab link. I had no idea what that meant, nor where to get one, hit the submit button several times w no feedback, and went to SketchFab to investigate (diff. web site, out of lesson "module", no warning, etc.)
Found out I had been a "free" member of SketchFab since last year but totally spaced it. After poking around uploaded the primitive model, got a SF url, went back to CGC and used Submission to ul my primitive exercise model from within CGC wondering why I had to do this again. Hitting the Submit button did nothing (no indication it had submitted ok, so clicked again, and again, which led to a slew of models on SF much to my dismay).
However, they were all invisible, or I should say slightly visible. Changing the Settings on SF made no significant changes in visibility, except for wire frame which was again, slightly visible.
After more poking around I found an add-on on SketchFab for Blender which I "installed" and uploaded my model again. In Blender the model looks fine, but when I go to SF and load the 3D option, it becomes invisible again.
With best wishes, Alan
PS: Just came from SF where I discovered the Settings section (new to me). Turned opacity off, w no different result in visibility. That is, I still can't see the model in SF.
FYI / update on the visibility issue appears to be a known problem. More info here:

FYI, just received email from James at SketchFab stating that the visibility issue w Safari displaying 3D models is now fixed.
I did a quick check, and seems to be working fine now. Now the Submit button needs a confirmation of sorts upon submission.
