Hi - when I switched to EXR multi layer images, my alpha sockets disappeared from the 3 images. However, in the tutorial, they are still there. I've looked into the render passes but can't find how to enable alpha. https://www.dropbox.com/s/9mymmbc03er8j4r/fundamentals-of-compositing_start_packed_missing_alpha_sockets.blend?dl=0

I double checked that when I save out the EXR I am selecting RGBA. Also in the preview image on the image node, the alpha is showing correctly - but there is no socket.

Here's a video to help explain the problem https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o7HRzvrtw8s

I have a similar problem--a solution for some people is to use the "separate RGBA" node, and use the alpha from there. It doesn't quite work for me, but it might for you.

In addition to my previous response, let me clarify that you want to plug in that alpha from the separation into whatever "factor" of alpha over it is going to. Or, if it's the final alpha over, plugging into the composite alpha might work too. Best of luck.
